OOTD: Colbalt Cool

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I've been dying to style these amazing cobalt blue pants I picked up at H&M last Friday. When I tried them on...oooo weee...they sucked in and hugged all the right places, the price was right at $19.90 and I knew I had a winner! Considering the fact that they don't have belt loops and still fit my waist AND hips (a frequent problem I have with my pants) was a PLUS PLUS PLUS!! There are so many ways I foresee styling these pants. I'm definitely inspired.

Street Style: Harem Pants

I have been wanting a pair of harem pants for as long as I can remember, but I never did because I didn't think they were particularly flattering for my body type. But FASHION FIND these totally are!!! I picked up these beauties in one of my favorite NYC boutiques...DeJenaro. The clothing line is called ChancesR and I loved them so much I bought a black and white pair as well.

First, let me start off by saying these are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn! They're so versatile, you can dress them down as I have done with a T-shirt, classic denim jacket and sneakers. Or pair them with a sheer top, blazer and strappy heels for a dressier look.

The print takes it from a lounge pant silhouette to something more sophisticated, but the key to wearing harem pants is to incorporate structured pieces into your outfit otherwise you will look like you're going to bed lol

Wedded Bliss

Love is in the air and what's better than a Spring wedding!

Two weeks ago I had the priveledge to witness two beautiful friends join together in holy matrimony....everything was beautiful from the ceremony to the venue to the food to the music; I had an amazing night *sigh*

I wanted to wear something fairly simple yet elegant and so paired this light gray (my favorite color) one shoulder dress with my fav blush pumps and blush earrings. I bought this dress a few years ago on sale from H&M for a whopping $10!! With the neckline of this dress, statement earrings is all that was needed.

A great way to conceal problem areas and hug the right places is a dress with rouging. Though I'm not a huge fan of my arms, the rouging offered enough visual interest to distract from wearing them out. Of course my phone died during the festivities so I didn't get to capture as many moments as I would've liked but you get the idea lol

OOTD: Black & Gold

So I am currently obsessed with this scuba skirt I purchased from Target over the weekend.  Its kind of a skater skirt but with more of a flared hemline...and so soft and flattering...this is by far my new favorite fabric. I added some black and gold accessories to finish the look.

Pretty Pastels

Skater Skirt: H&M; Cardigan: Forever21; Pumps: Anne Klein (thrifted); Handkerchief: Thrifted; Necklace & Bracelet: Thrifted

Spring has sprung and I can't wait to dig out my Spring/Summer gems for the season :-) I decided to style this mint green (pics showing a little bluer) skater skirt that I recently purchased from H&M with a semi-sheer canary yellow cardigan and blush pumps. Believe it or not I've been seeing these colors in my mind for a while now. The combination may seem odd but it works because the colors are all pastels in the same tone (Someday I'll get around to writing that post on the difference between color's value and chroma). I am absolutely OBSESSED with mint green and I can't wait to incorporate more of this color into my wardrobe.

What I love about this outfit is that the skater skirt is so flattering on so many body types, I feel every woman should have a few of this easy staple piece. Heels instantly slim your legs and make you stand taller. The cardigan is very soft and semi-sheer for a light touch. How sweet is this blush handkerchief I found at a vintage shop (Second Time Around-Madison, NJ)?? The store owner told me the matching necklace and bracelet set are also from the 1920s and threw in the handkerchief for free! Oh how I LOVE a bargain! 8-D I feel so pretty and feminine in this chocolate Easter egg haaaa and with Easter just a few weeks away I'm perfect.

How do you plan to welcome Spring 2014?
